Niemiecka agresja na Francję, Belgię, Holandię i Luksemburg rozpoczęła się w Ardenach. 10 maja przez górzyste tereny ruszyło potężne uderzenie czołgów i piechoty. Do akcji weszli też spadochroniarze. Błyskawiczny manewr był całkowitym zaskoczeniem dla aliantów, którzy uznawali Ardeny za teren niedostępny dla wojsk zmechanizowanych.

German aggression towards France, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg began in the Ardennes. On May 10, a huge mass of tanks and infantry rushed through the hilly terrain. Paratroopers also joined the campaign. A quick maneuver was a total surprise for the Allies who recognized the Ardennes as an inaccessible area for mechanized troops.
